Man Wanted In Virginia After Allegedly Striking, Strangling Woman During Domestic Dispute: PD

A man who allegedly assaulted an acquaintance and choked her before stealing cash is at large in Virginia, officials are cautioning.

Curtis Austin Bowen, 35, who has no fixed address, is wanted in Prince William County following an alleged domestic dispute that escalated into violence in Woodbridge on Tuesday, Oct. 11.

Police say that shortly after 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon, officers responded to the 14000 block of Alaska Road to investigate a reported domestic incident.

The investigation determined that the victim, a 54-year-old woman, got into an altercation with Bowen that ramped up, and during the encounter, he allegedly struck her and choked her.

It is further alleged that Bowen then removed money from the woman’s pockets and fled as police responded at the scene to investigate the incident.

A police K9 Unit and helicopter assistance from the Fairfax County Police Department were called to help canvas the area, but Bowen remains elusive, officials say.

The woman suffered minor injuries in the dispute.

An arrest warrant for Bowen was obtained by investigators, and Bowen is wanted for:

  • Strangulation;
  • Robbery;
  • Domestic assault.

Bowen is described as being 5-foot-11 weighing approximately 235 pounds with brown hair and hazel eyes. No other descriptive information has been provided.
